Chris Ousse, 2001 Eagle Scout and active Boy Scout leader for 17 years, teaches wilderness survival merit badge, and is an expert fire keeper, experienced hiker and camper, and lover of knots. Co-creator of the Fox Walkers forest learning community. Forager and herb gardener who voraciously studies Maryland tree and plant identification. A man on a simple mission, to plant seeds and sing songs.
Taylor grew up around Lake Linganore, exploring the surrounding woods and fields. His formative experiences there fostered in him a lifelong passion for plants and ecology. He has worked throughout Maryland as a farmer, environmental educator, and landscaper. Currently Taylor works as a teacher and beekeeper for Fox Haven, a horticulturist for Stream-Link Education, and as the assistant naturalist at Fountain Rock Park and Nature Center. When he is not working he can be found analyzing the plant species composition of the meadow by his house, or staring at bees going in and out of hives.
