Mindfulness in Nature Classes for Youth
April 4, 11, 25 and May 2, 9, 16 – 2017 – 6 – 7:15 pm in the DAIRY PARLOR
We are providing 8 early evening sessions for youth 6 – 10 years
Cost for all 4 sessions is $ 90.00 – $80.00 before March 5th if paid in full
Cost for drop in is $15
This program is a 6-week session introduction to mindfulness for youth. We will be introducing and exploring mindfulness through nature based learning at Fox Haven. Youth at the end of this program will gain skills to be more resilient, self aware, and compassionate towards themselves and the world. Our goal is to teach the youth of today to care for the earth, and by directly experiencing the magic and beauty of nature children understand how everything is interconnected.
Session 1: Our Water Story: Creek exploration, storytelling, yoga, painting, and water meditation
Session 2: Grounding Ourselves to the Earth: Sensory Mindfulness Games, Clay Work, Nature, and Earth Yoga
Session 3: Finding Our Spark: Creating Heat within Mindful Cooking, Sand Art meditation, and yoga
Session 4: Our Windy Nature: Aliveness and Agility Games, Inquisitive Focus (Finding our sitting spot), Poetry, and Nature Walk
Session 5: “Loosening Up” the body and mind understanding the art of being presence through Dance.
Session 6: Mindful Music: Creating natural instruments that mimic our bodies own internal rhythm that foster inner peace.
10 must be signed up by March 16th in order for this class to begin. ( 12 max )
