Tea Blending, Spice Blends and Broths – February 17th 1-4pm
Why is the Full Schedule and Drop-in price different?
Signing up for the full winter study is like taking a course. You’ll get our crafted study guides, dry herbs to work with at home, you’ll make preparations in class that will be yours to keep and you’ll be able to use herbs from the apothecary to craft your final project. This full two month experience requires a materials fee that – trust us – will be fruitful and enjoyable to receive back in the form of herbs!
A Drop-in is like sitting in on one day of this course. You’ll learn skills, experience herbs through taste, touch and smell, and you’ll leave with some ideas for at-home projects but you won’t get the Full Program experience with all the materials that we’ll be diving into over our two months together.
Can the final project be done individually instead of as a group?
Yes! Winter is a time for reflection, introspection and slowing down and we honor that. It’s also a time to sit in circles sharing stories, working together and easing each others load. Everyone will have a “group” that they can work with to conceptualize herbal energetics and share information and research with but if making an individual presentation is your preference we welcome that desire for personal creation.
What do you mean by “take-homes”?
We’ll be experimenting with making all kinds of things like tea-blends, spice blends, broths, lozenges and syrups and we’ll be plucking pine needles, gathering winter roots and poking around looking for tender edibles. All of these things may find their way into your basket to go home after class.
Can we just sign up for the March 3rd Field Trip day?
Absolutely. Tonic Herbs and Sacred Roots are offering private, personalized classes for our Winter Study group that will not be offered to the public on these days. If you want to hop into our group for the day to take advantage of these special presentations and experiences please do!
