At Fox Haven, we understand that farming is more than just a way to grow herbs and food—it’s a deep, reciprocal relationship with the land. Every herb we cultivate tells the story of the seasons. It starts with careful planning in early spring, when we clear the soil and add compost to prepare the earth for the year’s crops. Then, with each seed planted, we connect with the earth’s rhythm, knowing that the soil is feeding us as much as we are feeding it. As the months pass, Fox Haven’s farm interns and volunteers pour their hearts into tending to each plant. They are the hands that keep the weeds in check, water the thirsty seedlings, and watch over the growth of our herbs. Harvesting is an act of gratitude—we gather each bundle with care, knowing that the earth’s bounty will soon nourish our community.
