COVID Protocol

  1. Please do not come to class if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to people in your life who are sick. Please contact so we can discuss how to handle your absence.
  2. Masks are optional during outdoor events. We will maintain 6 feet social distance at all times. If you are not vaccinated, we request that you please wear a mask during outdoor events. Everyone is required to wear masks indoors, this includes our barn and dairy parlor.
  3. Before and after class, Fox Haven will sanitize any surfaces used. Hand Sanitizer will be available during class, and sanitizing/hand washing will be encouraged before class and after breaks, before preparing plants and tastings.
  4. When we have tastings, we will spread out to the best of our ability. Maintaining at least 6 feet apart is required.

Foraging Fungi: Virtual Fungi Storage & Cooking

Wild mushrooms not only look different from typical grocery finds, they also store and cook differently. In this class, we’ll cover the basics of cleaning, drying, pickling, and freezing, and we’ll demonstrate two basic cooking techniques, a sauté and a braise, to get the best flavor from your wild food finds.
