Foraging Level 1: Willow, Witch Hazel and Walnut with Taylor Roman SOLD OUT
March 13 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
February brings us into the season of sap. It is during these cold days that are just starting to tip into spring temperatures that we can ask for barks and saps from trees. Join Chris Ousse in this medicinal tree adventure. We will visit and harvest from 3 of our favorite trees in Maryland on a nice walk around Fox Haven. Little compares to the quality of harvesting forest-fresh. Let’s cook down tree barks and craft medicine together as we discuss the practical use of our homemade decoctions.
Chris Ousse, 2001 Eagle Scout and active Boy Scout leader for 17 years, teaches wilderness survival merit badge, and is an expert fire keeper, experienced hiker and camper, and lover of knots. Co-creator of the Fox Walkers forest learning community. Forager and herb gardener who voraciously studies Maryland tree and plant identification. A man on a simple mission, to plant seeds and sing songs.
