Leopold Education Project Educator’s Workshop

Formal and non-formal secondary educators are invited to attend the Leopold Education Project teacher training, in-person and socially distanced outdoor teaching and learning experience at Fox Haven Farm and Learning Center.
The Leopold Education Project is an outdoor, experiential curriculum based on Aldo Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac that teaches important observational skills and scientific inquiries into land use history, climate change, and conservation ethics.
Participants will receive a copy of A Sand County Almanac and the LEP Curriculum Guide.
Join us Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 10am to 3pm at Fox Haven Farm and Learning Center, 3630 Poffenberger Rd, Jefferson, MD 21755.
Workshop fee is $30.
Please Dress for whatever the weather may bring, pack a lunch, and a journal or notebook.
About LandBack Tax
From 2022 onward, Fox Haven will donate $2 from each event ticket to the Kikeokan Foundation to pay LandBack tax, acknowledging our access to stolen Indigenous land. The Kikeokan Foundation is an Indigenous-led initiative working to restore ancestral land and sovereignty to the Piscataway and other Indigenous communities of the Chesapeake.
If inclement weather is predicted ahead of an event, you will be notified 48 hours before the event date about any cancellation or rescheduling. Otherwise, the event is presumed to take place rain or shine. An alternative venue may be arranged if shelter is required. Please note that refunds are not provided for postponed events or no-shows. However, if Fox Haven cancels, a full refund will be issued.
